Luxury Retreat In A 5-Star Hotel in Bordeaux
Learn all about Les Sources De Caudalie a luxury hotel in Bordeaux.
Hidden in the lush vineyards of Bordeaux, Les Sources de Caudalie stands as a beacon of luxury and tranquility.
Renowned for its impeccable service, opulent accommodations, and rejuvenating spa experiences, this 5-star hotel promises an unforgettable weekend getaway.
From beautiful vineyards to serene SPA and indoor pools to fine dining you can indulge and relax in the heart of France’s win country.
We visited this luxury hotel in Bordeaux as a celebration of accomplishing a big milestone. We have been using Caudalie products for years and we’ve always wanted to visit their Spa.
In this post, we will share how you can have a relaxing and luxurious weekend in a 5-star hotel located in Bordeaux, France.
Day 1: Arrival and Welcome
As you step into the elegant lobby of Les Sources de Caudalie Hotel, you’re greeted by the staff’s warm smiles, setting the tone for a truly exceptional weekend.
First, check in and head to your suite which is decorated with French charm and amazing views of the vineyard and gardens.
We loved finding several delightful touches when we arrived in our room. Alongside the Caudalie products in the bathroom, we discovered a Sézane makeup bag with a mini perfume and cute socks on the bed, as well as a bottle of Le Lièvre wine.
After settling in, you can walk around and explore the property. As you stroll around the gardens you will discover ducks and swans, as well as a small farm with horses.
If you are feeling more adventurous, grab one of the hotel’s bicycles and take a ride around the vineyard.
Additionally, one perk of staying at the hotel is the chance to visit the Forest of the Senses. Located in the Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte vineyard next to the hotel, you can explore the forest at your own pace with a map in hand.
This 10-hectare open-air museum trail features contemporary artworks on the theme of the 5 senses. To learn more about the walking trail, visit the Chauteu’s website.
Finish your day by eating dinner at one of the hotel restaurants. La Table Du Lavoir offers a charming country atmosphere and tasty dishes made with seasonal produce. We found all of our meals to be fresh and delicious, especially the desserts.
Most of the vegetables and herbs used by the chef are picked from the garden behind the restaurant. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to enjoy one of Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte’s wines with your delicious dinner.
Day 2: Relaxation
Start the day by visiting the renowned Spa Vinotherapie to get the full Caudalie treatment. We recommend making your SPA appointment when you check in at the hotel.
To make the most out of your Spa experience book a half-day or full-day treatment. This will allow you to truly enjoy the Spa facilities including access to the Hamman, relaxation rooms, and a natural hot water bath with a jacuzzi.
Given that Caudalie is known for its anti-oxidant and anti-aging facial care products we highly recommend getting a facial for healthier and glowing skin. In addition to facial treatments, you can get scrubs, massages, baths, and body wraps. You can also stock up on Caudalie products at their store.
It should be noted that The Vinothérapie Spa is open Monday to Saturday from 8:30 am to 7 pm and Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm. Important to note that Saturday and Sunday prices are a bit higher than on weekdays.
Calm Afternoon
After pampering yourself head to Rouge, the gourmet grocery shop and wine bar for lunch. The atmosphere in the bar is family-friendly and the decor is modern.
Share dishes and enjoy a charcuterie board of local cheeses paired with a delightful Bordeaux wine. Don’t forget to finish with one of the delicious desserts!
In the afternoon, take a dip in the heated outdoor pool or glasshouse indoor pool. You can also visit The Sauna which is a barrel shape and located on the terrace of the indoor pool.
Due to a rainy day, we took advantage of the beautiful indoor pool. You can take a shower before and after swimming in the pool. They provide hair dryers, Caudalie products, towels, a robe, and sandals for your convenience.
Finally, as the day comes to an end, slip on your best attire and head to La Grand’Vigne for dinner. This 2-star Michelin restaurant offers a choice between a 5-course and a 7-course menu, both with optional wine pairings.
Chef Nicolas Masse crafts dishes that highlight the fruits and vegetables from their organic garden, along with meat, dairy, and fish products sourced from their farms.
Important, make sure you make a reservation for every dining experience and confirm which days the restaurant is open. Unfortunately, we didn’t dine at La Grand’Vigne because it was closed both nights we stayed at the hotel. We need to go back to try it.
Day 3: Wine Tasting and Departure
On the final day at Les Sources de Cauladie, order breakfast to be delivered to your room. It arrives in a picnic basket with a selection of freshly baked pastries, artisanal cheeses, and seasonal fruits.
Afterward, you can go wine tasting across the hotel at the Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte vineyard. Take advantage of your visit to stroll around the Chateau which has beautiful gardens and artwork.
But if you’ve already had too much wine you can relax by the pool, take a yoga class, or take a ride on a bike through the vineyard.
A Weekend to Remember
We loved our stay at Les Sources de Caudalie. While the hotel spa experience was the highlight of our trip, we also enjoyed the amazing food, top-notch facilities, and breathtaking surroundings.
